FAQ’s

Here are some frequently asked questions:

1).        How do I order?
Please contact me by telephone or email to place an order or to discuss any specific requirements you have. If there is no answer when you ring, please leave a message and I will ring you back as soon as I can.

2).        How do I pay?
I accept payment by bank transfer, paypal, cheque or cash. There is a deposit of 25% to be paid at time of order, with the balance due on collection or delivery. For wedding cakes, the balance needs to be paid 4 weeks before collection or delivery.

3).        Where do you deliver to?
I offer free delivery within a 20 mile radius of Northwich, Cheshire, or Falkirk in Scotland, based on a minimum order of 12 cupcakes. Click here for a more detailed map of Cheshire or click here for a more detailed map of Falkirk.

If you are outside this area, I can deliver at a cost of 25p per extra mile over and above 20 miles. You are welcome to come and collect at a mutually convenient time, or you can arrange a courier if you are hundreds of miles away.

4).        Can I collect from you?
You are welcome to collect your order from my house in Northwich or Falkirk, at a mutually convenient time.

5).        Is there a minimum order amount?
Cupcakes and other smaller cakes have a minimum order of 6 cakes for collection, or 12 cakes if you qualify for free delivery. I can offer mixed selections of cupcake flavours based on a minimum quantity of 3 of each flavour. So for a box of 12 you can have up to 4 flavours. The purpose of this is to reduce the amount of wastage as cupcakes are made in batches of 6 or 12.

6).        Do you offer bulk discounts?
I feel my cakes are reasonably priced and could not offer any further discounts. However, if you run a café or restaurant and would like me to supply your business, then I can negotiate a discounted rate to supply you on a regular basis.

7).        What if I have a nut allergy?
Most of my cakes do not contain nuts but they might contain ingredients that may have been produced in a factory where nuts have also been produced. Sometimes I work with nuts in my kitchen for other cooking, but I try to handle them in a manner which does not lead to cross contamination. So unfortunately I cannot guarantee that my cakes are nut free.

8).        How big are your cupcakes?
My cupcakes are muffin sized. They are approximately 8cm diameter and 4 cm high plus the topping.

9).        How long do your cakes last?
I recommend storing them in an airtight container in the fridge, and they are best eaten within 3 days of purchase. However, they will last 5 days in the fridge (if you can resist them for that long!). Fruit cakes for weddings and christmas cakes will last a good few months if kept in an airtight container.

10).      Do you decorate cakes to order?
Definitely! Just contact me with your requirements and I will do my best to fulfill your wishes.

11).      The flavour I want isn’t listed, do you not do it?
If your favourite flavour isn’t listed then please contact me and I will see if I can perfect the flavour for you. I am constantly trying to produce different flavours and combinations. Most cupcakes have interchangeable frostings.

12).      How much notice do you need for an order?

As my cupcakes are made to order, I require at least 7 days notice. For large orders of cupcakes (for weddings, birthdays, christenings etc) I require 4 weeks notice. For wedding cakes and christmas cakes I require 6 weeks notice. If however, you have a cake emergency then please contact me and I will do my best to help you out.

13).      Are there any hidden costs?
No. I try and make my website as true and real as possible. So the price you see will be the price you pay. The only variable costs are the delivery cost if you live outside my 20 mile catchment area and if you have a custom design you require.

14).      What is your data protection policy?
I can assure you that your personal details will never be passed on to anyone else and will remain confidential.
